I am fishing Flamingo with Tom and his brother in law Brian from Maryland. Brian comes down every year and likes to fish somewhere. We started out in front of Flamingo today looking to catch a couple quick Tarpon and then move on with every thing else. We hit allot of spots and spent time on mullet schools in the Gulf of Mexico. There were some Snook in there but we only manages one nice one. We covered allot of water and found some fish I the back country.

I am fishing the Day on the Bay Tournament and we are down at Flamingo, this is a fun fishing family tournament. This tournament has a list of fish and our goal is always to catch as many as we can.  I am fishing with my son James and friend Mitch they have been partners in this tournament for the last few years. It started out breezy today and eventually got worse @ 30 mph. We started out fairly quick with Mitch getting a 22 inch Tarpon and James catching several Snook to get on the scoreboard. The next spot produced the biggest Trout of the tournament which was only 17 inches, this spot also gave us our 11"Snapper.

The next spot was on fire we caught about 20 Snook on this spot including Mitch's 28 incher. By now the wind was really blowing so we ran out along the coast. We had been fishing lures all day but we found some Pilchards so now we hoping for the magic to start. We lost a big Snook and then the Sharks moved in on us and we got a couple 4 footers. I wanted a bigger one but time was running out and we still wanted to stop on the way out for a Bass or Peacock Bass. They both caught Peacocks the measured 11". It was time to go, I have got back late and cost us before. The said part of today was we couldn't turn in a Redfish but I did catch one just playing around with a Gulp Shrimp.

We made it to weigh in got our paper work in and won Top Team and Top Angler(James).  Mitch also won big Tarpon and Trout and I top Guide.

Fishing is good along both coast and all the bays. The water is cooling down there's bait around and there fish that are hungry. The crowds are still down on the water which really helps out. I have plenty of openings so if you have a desire to catch some fish give me a call at 305 333 8149.
