End of June report

hot and muggy = Tarpon

These are the months I wait for June, July, and August. This is when the early bird gets the Snook and Tarpon. The key to this is to be on the water before first light and to be in an area which holds fish.

My favorite technique is topwater lures. My favorite is the Rebel Jumping Minnow in black, orange and gold in off colored water and black and silver in semi clear. The new Storm suspending shad is incredible, thats all I'll say about it.

I like to fish holes, channel edges and flats that have big depressions in them for Snook. The Tarpon can be in several places from motes around the islands, laid up in channel, on top of the flats or cruising the large basins out in Florida Bay.

The big Snook are also taking up residence in Government Cut while waiting to spawn. There are some big Snook in there. This usually is a late afternoon fishery, the Snook are also on the bridges, docks and under the lights anywhere you can find one that is bright.

If you would like to see my new boat go to www.man-o-warboatworks.com

These are the months I target my biggest Snook on topwater if interested give me a call 305-333-8149 and give it a try.
