September update

Hurricanes are fianally gone

At this time Hurricane Ivan is on the west tip of Cuba and apparently going to miss us in South Florida. Being prepared is the ticket can you imagine 140 to 165 mph winds would your house make it. That’s what people have been wondering for about a month or so know.

Where do you get your weather info from, everyone has there on source. For Hurricane info try www.wunderground.com. These guys aren’t trying to sell anything they just do good weather reporting.

It has been a long few weeks, and we have been preparing for Hurricanes. There has been very little opportunity to get out on a boat, at least in comfortable conditions. I have heard of several guys making it out and having incredible catches. They are fishing alone! These days of no one running across the flats and giving the fish a chance to live in there natural habitat could make for some great fishing starting this up coming week One of the most enjoyable ways for me to spend a day is on the water for 2 weeks there has been no on the water. We have done some fishing at the spillways and the Snook are around as well as Black Bass, Peacock Bass and the occasional Tarpon.

Fall Mullet run is in full swing if there is a day you can make it out and run the beaches the opportunities are endless. I heard there were some really big Jack Crevalles busting up the 5-inch mullet. That’s were I’m heading first chance I get or as soon as I get the boat out of storage again.

The Key West S.L.A.M. tournament was cancelled this weekend Sept. 11-12 I miss that I don’t the fact that i dont get to Key West as much as I used to. We were supposed to fish in Ruskin on the Sept 17-18 for the Redfish Tour, which had been moved from Punta Gorda because of Hurricane Charlie damage and its cancelled. I think my cabin fever it is about over, the Atlantic seems to be quite this week but I don’t want to jinx it.

My new boat should be finished by next week that’s the Man-O-War skiff its a pretty technical I’ve been waiting since June and its close to being finished

I have plenty of openings right now Tarpon, Snook,Giant Jacks, and Bonefish are one way to go the other is Flamingo it should be incredible down there this week. Give me a call if you have cabin fever and need a day on the water. This month the price is going to be knocked down $100.00 for a full day trip?
